At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Volkswagen showed off the 2016 Beetle Dune. The new design draws plenty of inspiration from the classic “Baja Bugs,” resulting in an eye-catching, rugged ride. With plenty of VW Beetle Coupe and Convertible models in stock, we’re excited to check out the 2016 Beetle Dune.

The first thing you notice about the Beetle Dune is the car’s aggressive appearance, created by the new front and rear fascias, pronounced black wheel arch extensions flowing into the bumpers, a raised height of .4 inches, and track that is .6 inches wider. This eye-catching exterior will come in Pure White, Deep Pearl Black, and Sandstorm Yellow. As an added bonus, the interior of the Sandstorm Yellow models features body color trims and dashpads.

The Beetle Dune will come equipped with the latest generation MIB II infotainment system, which provides a foundation for the available Car-Net® feature suite. This optional Car-Net connectivity includes APP-Connect technology that allows integration with Apple CarPlay®, Android AutoTM, and MirrorLink®. So whatever your smartphone preference, the Dune has got you covered. The MIB II system also makes use of a proximity sensor that detects when a hand is near and switches the display automatically to allow simpler selection of specific features.

The Beetle Dune will come with a standard 1.8-liter direct-injection, turbocharged TSI® four-cylinder engine pumping out 170 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Dune coupe will go on sale in the first quarter of next year, while the convertible will follow in Q3.

In the meantime, come check out all of the great coupe and convertible VW Beetles for sale now at Stone Mountain Volkswagen.
